The Hungarian railway system recently installed Intellio's Intelligent IP cameras to guard against thieves who target the copper transport security cables on the Vienna-Budapest international line.

Not only can these thefts inflict a large amount of damage that cost thousands of Euros to repair, but they can also endanger train passengers, according to a statement issued by the company.

Intellio's IP cameras, however, come equipped with video analytic technology known as intruder detection, which alerts security personnel when an unauthorized person enters a restricted area.

According to Intellio CEO János Kópházi, the "main goal" of the project was to prevent thefts before they could occur and that unlike the Intelligent IP system installed by MAV (Hungary's National Railway and Transportation Authority), other CCTV systems have to rely exclusively on guards to observe an intruder before they respond.
